Photography is a hugely important part of my life. Although I have done some photography courses to improve and to learn more about the theory of photography, I am a self-taught photographer. I was lucky enough to be able to turn my passion into a job. My educational background is a Bachelor in Social Studies from Poland and a Bachelor in Management from CIT. So these have both helped me to understand more about human nature and running a business – both of which are important aspects of my role as a photographer. I always strive to learn more and to become a better photographer every day.
Privately, I am a mother of two beautiful souls, Olivia and Benjamin. They’re my little muses and I’m very lucky they like posing for me and making my ideas come to life. We also have a cat named Luna, but she is not as cooperative as my kids when being photographed.
I have lived in Clonakilty for seven years now and I truly love the people of West Cork. I love interacting with people and getting to know them and their story. I believe we all have something interesting to say and sometimes just need to be encouraged to achieve our dreams. A past project, the West Cork Beauty Project‘s main objective was to prove to women that they are perfect the way they are and that they should appreciate themselves, regardless of the pressure put on them by the society. I also organised the Photographers Challenge, which encouraged local photographers with different skill sets who wanted to network, to learn from others and push themselves out of their comfort zone in photography.
Amongst my clients you can find some amazing and talented human beings such as Louise O’Neill, Sarah Keary, Cliona O’Connor and Sherna Molone. I have also worked with some fantastic businesses: the Clonakilty Park Hotel, the Celtic Ross Hotel, Dunowen House, Whitefawn Boutique, Absolute Heath & Fitness, Frogpearl, Fusion Hair & Make Up and others.
Even though I love photographing people and that has been always my main interest, I got asked by many about my landscape prints, which you can browse and purchase in the Little Green Dot shop, Clonakilty, where, by the way, my photography studio is located. Come by and say hello!
